FARÏDAÉ | by Faridae Smit

FARÏDAÉ is a one-woman studio run from my small home atelier, where every piece is designed, crafted, and assembled entirely by hand, from drying the flowers to sealing them in resin and completing the final design. Nothing is rushed or mass-produced.

The work honors what is often overlooked: fading blooms, forgotten materials, and craftsmanship that takes time.

FARÏDAÉ is a quiet resistance to the disposable mindset of fast fashion, a celebration of what is real, raw, and made with care. The studio is grounded in respect for nature, for craftsmanship, and for the stories carried by every material used. This is not fast fashion. It is slow, intentional, and rooted in the belief that beauty comes from care, not excess.

All pieces are created in small batches with minimal waste. From sourcing to final touches, each step is guided by a deep love for the natural world and a commitment to keeping the process as honest and authentic as possible.

Nature Is My Muse

At the heart of every piece is a real flower. Some are gifted, some collected before being discarded by florists, others picked in season.

Flowers are preserved using traditional drying techniques, including pressed flower methods and salt dehydration, allowing their natural colors and textures to remain as true as possible.

No two blooms are ever the same, just like no two creations.

Handcrafted, Start to Finish

From designing and preserving to coating in resin and assembling the final jewelry, every step of the process is done by my hands.

Flowers are carefully dried and sealed in crystal-clear, UV-stable resin, then paired with thoughtfully chosen materials: 18k or 24k gold-plated elements, recycled textiles used for chokers, and collected decorative pieces such as vintage beads, antique finds, and small selections of foraged seashells, always washed up on the beach, never taken directly from the sea.

Made From What Already Exists

FARÏDAÉ is rooted in low-waste, small-scale craftsmanship. The studio works with what already exists, from fashion designer offcuts and vintage objects to flowers saved from wilting, repurposed to extend their life in a new, meaningful form.

There is no overstock. Each piece is created slowly and thoughtfully, allowing the work to remain personal and connected, while avoiding the waste that comes from chasing trends or filling shelves.

The studio’s goal is to create artful, wearable, and responsible jewelry.
All pieces are one-of-a-kind, making each creation as unique as the person who wears it.
